    • Our Zoom classes are considered equivalent to in-person attendance under Ohio regulations. By attending a Zoom webinar, you can fulfill your entire state-required hours without any restrictions.
    • This is a convenient and fully compliant option for remote learning while still benefiting from live, interactive instruction.
  • In-Person Classes
    • In-person classes are held at our office: 100 N Galway Dr, Granville, OH 43023.
    • These sessions also meet all Ohio state requirements for completing your continuing education hours.

In person classes are held at our training facility, which is located East of Columbus in Granville Erinwood business park 100 N Galway Drive, Granville, Ohio 43023.  We also offer our classes online via Zoom meeting.  Feel free to choose whichever works best for you.

Each Course Outline: 4-Day / 40-Hour NEC NFPA 70

Code Class

This 40-hour course is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the NEC NFPA 70 Code, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and compliant NEC NFPA 70 installations. Each day is structured to cover different chapters and topics of the NEC NFPA 70 Code, ensuring a complete grasp of the essential requirements and practices in the field. This course is ideal for Electrical contractors, inspectors, and anyone in the industry looking to stay current with NEC NFPA 70 Code.

Code Training – NEC NFPA 70

Part 1 (10 Hours) – NEC Core Foundations (Chapters 1–2)

  • Code structure, scope, and definitions

  • General installation requirements and practical compliance

  • Branch circuits, feeders, services, load calculations

  • Overcurrent protection and grounding/bonding fundamentals

Part 2 (10 Hours) – Wiring Methods & Materials (Chapters 3)

  • General wiring methods and installation requirements

  • Cable and raceway applications (when/where/how)

  • Box and conduit fill concepts, basic ampacity principles

  • Common field mistakes and how inspectors flag them

Part 3 (10 Hours) – Equipment for General Use (Chapters 4)

  • Flexible cords/cables, switches, receptacles, panelboards

  • Luminaires/lighting systems and equipment installation basics

  • Motors, HVAC-related electrical rules, generators, transformers (overview + application focus)

Part 4 (10 Hours) – Electrical Calculations

  • Electrical Calculations

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the NEC NFPA 70 Code for Electrical professionals. Whether you’re new to the industry or looking to stay updated on regulations, this training ensures compliance and best practices.


This outline is structured to be informative, giving a clear view of what participants can expect from the four 10-hour courses.

Each student must take all four Parts 1 through 4 totaling 40 hours to receive a certificate from Advancing The Needle LLC (OCILB Training agency) However, it is not required to begin with Part 1. You can start with any part, such as Part 3, then move on to Part 4, followed by Part 1 and Part 2. The course can be started at any time, and as long as you complete all four parts, you will qualify for your certificate.

When all the courses are completed you will receive the certificate showing that you have completed 40 hours.
