  • In-Person Classes
    • In-person classes are held at our office: 100 N Galway Dr, Granville, OH 43023.
    • These sessions also meet all Ohio state requirements for completing your continuing education hours.

In person classes are held at our training facility, which is located East of Columbus in Granville Erinwood business park 100 N Galway Drive, Granville, Ohio 43023.  We also offer our classes online via Zoom meeting.  Feel free to choose whichever works best for you.

Each Course Outline: 4-Day / 40-Hour HVAC Code Class

This 40-hour course is designed to provide a thorough understanding of the Ohio Plumbing Code (OPC), equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed for safe and compliant Plumbing installations. Each day is structured to cover different chapters and topics of the Ohio Plumbing Code (OPC), ensuring a complete grasp of the essential requirements and practices in the field. This course is ideal for Plumbing contractors, inspectors, and anyone in the industry looking to stay current with the Ohio Plumbing Code (OPC).

2024 Plumbing Code Training – Ohio Plumbing Code (OPC)

Part 1 (10 Hour) – Foundations and Fixture Requirements

  • Code administration and enforcement

  • Definitions and core terminology

  • General plumbing regulations and installation requirements

  • Tests, inspections, and system protection

  • Plumbing fixtures, fittings, and minimum facility requirements

Part 2 (10 Hour) – Water Supply and Drainage Systems

  • Water heater installation and safety devices

  • Water supply and distribution systems

  • Hot water systems and temperature controls

  • Protection of potable water supply

  • Sanitary drainage system design and installation

  • Indirect and special waste systems

Part 3 (10 Hour) – Venting and Trap Systems

  • Vent system design and installation

  • Wet venting, circuit venting, and AAV applications

  • Individual, common, and combination vents

  • Trap requirements and protection

  • Interceptors and separators

Part 4 (10 Hour) – Storm, Special, and Nonpotable Systems

  • Storm drainage system design and sizing

  • Special piping and storage systems

  • Medical gas systems overview

  • Nonpotable and graywater systems

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the Ohio Mechanical Code for Plumbing professionals. Whether you’re new to the industry or looking to stay updated on regulations, this training ensures compliance and best practices.

This outline is structured to be informative, giving a clear view of what participants can expect from the four 10-hour courses.

Each student must take all four Parts 1 through 4 totaling 40 hours to receive a certificate from Advancing The Needle LLC (OCILB Training agency) However, it is not required to begin with Part 1. You can start with any part, such as Part 3, then move on to Part 4, followed by Part 1 and Part 2. The course can be started at any time, and as long as you complete all four parts, you will qualify for your certificate.

When all the courses are completed you will receive the certificate showing that you have completed 40 hours.
